The Sawyerville Work Project…...

  • is a project sponsored by the Youth Department of the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama and the Episcopal Black Belt Ministries

  • is a day camp for economically disadvantaged children and youth in Hale County, Alabama

  • is an opportunity for senior high youth and college students to experience the challenge and reward of servant leadership in the context of Christian community

  • is an outreach event marked by faith in action and peer ministry

  •  

    Three goals of the Sawyerville Work Project are:

    • To serve the Church through outreach

    • To provide opportunity for positive experience/interaction between African American and white communities in Hale County 

    • To broaden horizons of campers and counselors through day camp activities and relationship-building
